Parmesan Tenderstem Broccoli with Garlic Butter

How to make this recipe

In a large pan, start by adding the asparagus, tenderstem broccoli and greens with the olive oil and a splash of water.

Cover with a lid to steam for around 5 minutes, or until softened but not fully cooked. Then remove the lid from pan and leave any moisture to fry off.    Reduce the heat and add the butter, garlic and red pepper flakes into the pan.

Continue to gently fry on a low heat. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve with a squeeze of lemon juice and sprinkle of parmesan.

Ingredients

  • 320 g (2 packs ) tenderstem broccoli (£1.00x2)=(£2.00)
  • 360 g (2 packs) green beans (£2.00)
  • 150 g (1 pack) asparagus (£1.75)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (£0.69/3)=(£0.23)
  • 3 tbsp salted butter (£1.49/5)=(£0.30)
  • 50 g parmesan (£1.75/4)=(£0.44)
  • ½ lemon juiced (£0.20)

Cupboard Essentials

  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper

Method

  • Start by adding the asparagus, tenderstem broccoli & greens into the pan with the olive oil and a splash of water. Cover with a lid to steam for around 5 minutes, or until softened but not fully cooked.
