Tender Braising Steak with Gravy

With this braised steak recipe, you can enjoy a hearty, comforting meal that doesn’t break the budget!

Add the rapeseed oil and the braising steak to the pan, then fry on each side for 2 minutes to achieve a nice sear.

Add the onion and carrots. Reduce the heat to medium, season with salt & pepper and add the tomato puree.

Fry for around 5 minutes, then add the garlic and flour.  Fry for a further minute

Pour all of the stock into the pan and stir to combine and allow the sauce to thicken.

Add the braising steak to the slow cooker

Pour the mixture into your slow cooker, along with the steak and thyme sprigs.

Slow cook for 5 hours on high or 8 hours on low.

Before serving, break up the braising steak with a fork.
