Kinder Bueno Chocolate Mug Cake

This chocolate flavoured mug cake is packed full of protein and flavour. With a nutty/kinder bueno twist, it has to be my favourite high-protein snack/pudding.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg (£0.88/6=(£0.15)
  • 3 tbsp oat flour, blended oats (£0.75/10)=(£0.08)
  • 3 tbsp oat milk (£1.80/10)=(£0.18)
  • 1 tsp nutella (heaped spoon) (£2.00/10)= (£0.20)
  • 2 squares kinder bueno bar (£0.55)

Cupboard Essentials

  • 1 tbsp scoop chocolate protein powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • With a fork, mix the protein powder, egg, oat flour, oat milk and baking powder in a mug/small ramekin.
  • Add the dollop of nutella into the mug, moving the chocolate mix over the dollop until it’s submerged in the middle. Pop in the microwave for 60 seconds.
  • Top with 2 squares of kinder bueno and tuck in!

Notes

  • Use a microwave-safe mug and avoid overfilling to prevent overflow during cooking.
  • Avoid overmixing the ingredients to prevent a tough and chewy mug cake.
  • Check if the cake is fully cooked after 1 minute and microwave for an additional 20 to 30 seconds if needed. Add your favorite chocolate toppings for extra flavor.
