- 1 x 250g camembert round (£3)
- 1 baguette, sliced into rounds and toasted (£0.60)
Cupboard essentials
- 1 tbsp honey
- Sprinkle of chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt
Preheat the oven to 180° C/ 200° F.
Remove the paper from the wooden box of the camembert, then place the cheese back into the box. Score the top of the cheese (approx 1 cm deep), then add a swirl of honey, oil and a sprinkle of chilli flakes and flakey salt.
Bake the camembert for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and starting to get golden on top. Finish with a sprinkle of cajun seasoning and dive in! Serve immediately with toasted bread rounds.
- Avoid Overcooking: Overcooking can lead to a messy, overly cheesy result.
- Use Sealed Cheese: Opt for a sealed cheese round instead of a sliced one for baking.
- Room Temperature: Let the Camembert come to room temperature before baking if possible.
- Score the Top: Score the top of the cheese to allow steam to escape during baking.
