Easy Salt and Pepper Chips

- 500 g frozen chips (£2.50)
- ½ red pepper, thinly sliced (£0.39)
- ½ green pepper, thinly sliced (£0.39)
- ½ onion, thinly sliced (£0.39)
- 2-3 mixed chillies, thinly sliced (£0.55)
- Optional spring onions to serve
Cupboard Essentials
- 1 tsp msg or salt
- 1 tsp chinese five spice
- 1/2 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Preheat your oven and cook your chips according to the packet instructions. Mine were cooked at 200°C for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, add the oil, peppers, onion and chillies into the pan. Fry for around 3-5 minutes over a high heat.
Next, add the msg, five spice, garlic granules and black pepper. Continue to fry over a medium heat for 2 minutes to toast the spices.
Turn off the heat until the chips are ready. Once ready, pour the chips in whilst piping hot and heat through for 2 minutes over a medium/low heat, stirring to combine fully.
Optionally top with spring onions and dive in!
