- 175 g Camembert, thinly sliced into planks (£1.40)
- 200 g ham slices (£1.00)
- 10 slices thick white bread (£0.56)
- 5 tsp Marmite (£0.97)
- 250 g frozen brussels sprouts, defrosted and sliced into quarters, stems removed (£1.00)
Cupboard Essentials
- 5 tbsp butter or olive oil (1 tbsp per sandwich)
- 1 tbsp olive oil for brussels sprouts
Defrost your brussels in the microwave for 2 minutes.
To a non-stick frying pan, add 1 tbsp of olive oil along with the sprouts. Fry for around 5-6 minutes. Set aside.
Meanwhile, butter or add oil to both sides of your bread (approx. 1 tbsp per 2 pieces of bread). Then, coat one side of each piece of bread with a thin layer of marmite. Adjust Marmite quantity depending on preference. I love a lot!
To a non-stick frying pan. Place the bread butter-side down, so the Marmite is facing upwards.
Leave to toast for a couple of minutes and then add a layer of Camembert, ham and brussels. Close the sandwich and fry on each side for two minutes, until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted. Enjoy!
Top Tip: This is a great way to use up leftover brussels sprouts, or any other festive veg you may have in your fridge.
