Tender Air fryer Frozen Chicken Breasts (No thaw)

Frozen chicken in the air fryer is fast, delicious and easy with this method. This recipe yields the most tender result.

Ingredients

  • 650 g (3 large) chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil or other neutral oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 400℉ (200℃) for a couple of minutes.

  • Spray the basket with neutral oil. Add the frozen chicken and cook for 10 minutes so the chicken can defrost.
  • Brush thawed chicken the thawed chicken with neutral oil then add the onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. For extra browning, you can add a small drizzle of honey!
  • Cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, flipping half way through. Check the internal temperature for 165℉ (74℃).
  • If the temperature is not 165℉ (74℃ ), then add a few additional minutes and recheck the temperature. Continue this until the internal temperature of the chicken is 165℉ (74℃).
  • Serve hot with your choice of sides. I looove to pair this with BBQ sauce, hot sauce of a spicy mayo.

Notes

  • Make sure you preheat your airfryer and space the chicken breast out in the tray.
  • Similarly sized pieces of chicken will cook in a similar amount of time.
  • Check the internal temperature  which should be 165℉ (74℃) of each breast, not just one.
  • Remember to flip the chicken half way through.
