Save money: The primary reason I love this recipe is that aside from the incredible flavour, itโs so easy to whip up the perfect blend using pantry staples that you already have.
Customizable: I love this as the foundation to the best pork rube. Itโs perfect for me, but if you like to add a bit more/less spice, or adapt a certain dried herb, you have the freedom to do so! This is made a lot hard when buying a pre-made pork chop seasoning as you donโt know whatโs in it!
Long shelf life: This recipe for pork seasoning lasts for up to 6 months! So you donโt feel like you need to have pork chops every night for a week (although I wouldnโt mind that!)

The main ingredients that make this pork chop seasoning recipe fantastic are the following:
Ground black pepper
We want this to be finely ground rather than coarsely ground. This prevents the pepper from burning when searing the pork chops.
Smoked paprika
This is the most predominant spice in my seasoning for pork chops so if possible, use a high quality smoked paprika to get the best end-result.
Mustard powder
Slightly more obscure but well worth the addition. If you only have mustard seeds, use a pestle and mortar to finely ground into a powder.
Everyone has a preference when it comes to what to season pork chops with, so if you want to adapt this recipe for these reasons, go ahead!
Make it spicierโ Add some cayenne pepper to the blend, or some hot chilli powder.
Make it smokier โ Add some ground cumin and cayenne pepper
Make it milder โ Reduce the paprika to 1 tbsp and reduce quantity when using.
3. Add the pork chop seasoning to the pork chops and place in a hot skillet (Image 3).
4. Cook the pork chops over medium-high heat for around 6 minutes on each side, or until done how you like them (Image 4).

I always find that the best seasoning for pork chops are a sweet and savoury blend with a smoky twist. We want there to be a good base of flavour with the garlic and onion powder, then the rest of the seasonings are there to provide mild spice (black pepper, smoked paprika, mustard powder), sweetness (brown sugar), warmth (dried sage and rosemary) and salt (to enhance the flavour of all of the above).ย
When kept in an airtight container with a tightly fitting lid, it can stay good for up to 6 months.ย
I prefer bone in pork chops as the bone adds an extra layer of flavour. Itโs also handy to hold onto with your tongs when searing.ย
To prevent your pork chops from drying out, prepare them to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
