Knorr vegetable spinach dip is a classic party appetizer made with Knorr’s vegetable recipe mix, which adds a flavorful blend of herbs and spices.
What is in this Spinach dip recipe from Knorr?
It’s typically combined with ingredients like chopped spinach (I’ve used frozen and thawed for the best texture), sour cream, mayonnaise, and sometimes water chestnuts for added crunch. Personally, I like to skip the water chestnuts to make this knorr veggies dip more accessible cost-wise and flavor-wise.
The result is a creamy, savory dip that pairs beautifully with bread, crackers, or fresh veggies. Its quick preparation and rich flavor make it a favorite for gatherings and potlucks.
The main ingredients that make this Knorr Spinach Dip recipe fantastic are the following:
Knorr vegetable mix
Thanks to the mix of dehydrated vegetables like carrots, onions, leeks, and celery, along with a blend of spices and seasonings, this adds a well rounded flavor the creamy dip. If you can’t find this one exactly, you could use the Knorr vegetable soup sachet as a replacement.
Sour cream
The acidity in sour cream perfectly balances the creamy, rich flavours in this knorr vegetable dip.
Frozen spinach
Using frozen spinach rather than fresh yields the perfect texture for the spinach dip. With fresh spinach, it can be a bit too chunky and it’s harder to combine with the dip.
See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Add worcestershire sauce – Some people love the umami boost that this adds to the dip. I like to leave this out to ensure that the Knorr vegetable dip recipe is kid friendly, but if you’re only serving it to adults then it’s a great addition.
Add spices like cumin, cayenne, or paprika to shake things up- This recipe isn’t spicy at all, so if you want to increase the heat then feel free to add some spices or a dash of your favorite hot sauce. Bonus points if you dry fry the spices to bloom them!
Make it dairy free- If you’re serving vegans, you can switch to dairy-free alternatives. Unfortunately though, the Knorr vegetable mix does suggest that the packet ‘may contain milk’ so be sure to check in with your guests before serving!
3. Mix the creamy ingredients, onions, parsley, and Knorr seasoning together in the bowl well (Image 3).
4. Drain the spinach using a sieve or colander. Be sure to squeeze the excess water out with your hands (Image 4).
5. Add the drained spinach to the bowl with the creamy ingredients and mix it in thoroughly (Image 5).
6. Top the dip with chopped spring onions and a drizzle of olive oil, then serve with fresh veggies and crackers (Image 6).

Vegetables: Serve with crisp carrot sticks, celery, bell pepper slices, or cucumber rounds for a fresh and crunchy option.
Bread: A big trend with this recipe is hollowing out a sourdough loaf to create a bread bowl- this is really fun and definitely wows your guests! Or you could offer the dip alongside sourdough slices, baguette rounds, or crusty artisan bread.
Crackers: Pair with buttery crackers, whole-grain options, or seeded crisps for a satisfying crunch that complements the creamy dip.
Refrigerator: If possible, make this knorr spinach recipe ahead of time to allow the flavors to really get to know each other. This could be up to 4-5 hours before serving.
Freezer: I wouldn’t freeze this recipe due to the mayonnaise and sour cream- it could split in the freezer which would result in a bad texture/ flavor.
No, just thawed in boiling water. If you are using fresh spinach, then you would want to wilt it using steam before adding it to the dip.
If you want to use fresh spinach I would recommend blanching the spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes. Then rinse with cold water and squeeze all the moisture out. Roughly chop, then add to the knorr vegetable dip!
You may have not drained/ squeezed enough of the moisture out of the spinach before combining it with the other ingredients.
You could add a splash of milk or cream to loosen your dip.
