King Prawns – My favourite prawns to use in recipes like this easy spicy shrimp ramen soup are king prawns, as they are quite meaty. However, you can feel free to use any frozen shrimp or prawns you have on hand.
Instant Ramen Noodles – This ramen noodles with shrimp dish is a fantastic way to use up any instant dry ramen noodles in your pantry. I recommend selecting noodle packs with a vegetable, seafood, or chicken broth, so they taste better combined with the crispy prawns.
Pak Choi – Including pak choi in this recipe is a quick way to boost the nutrients of the dish. You can easily swap this out for other veg, such as napa cabbage or mushrooms.

Adding milk to shrimp ramen recipes (or other types of ramen recipes) will change the flavour of the dish. If your soup is too spicy, it can help calm the heat. Milk will also provide a creamy taste to the dish.
Shrimp ramen noodles on their own are not necessarily the healthiest. This recipe I’ve created includes two types of protein along with fresh herbs and veg, which adds nutrients to the noodles. These inclusions help boost the health of the dish. However, it’s always best to consult your doctor to decide if a certain food should be in your diet.
If you want a quicker method instead of air-frying, you can add shrimp directly to the soup and boil it over medium heat for a few minutes. When there are no more translucent sections of the shrimp, it is ready to eat. Just a note here – skipping the air fryer means you’re missing out on crispy shrimp goodness and bold flavours in your ramen.
Yes, you can create this recipe with other noodles. Soba and udon noodles taste delicious in soup and will combine well with the seasoning/flavours of this recipe. Opt for instant versions of each, as they come with seasoning packets.
