Ok so there are two primary ingredients to this recipe – Nutella & puff pastry. But to make these decadent desserts hit the next level, we add an egg wash and optionally finish with a light dusting of icing sugar. The result = a sweet, nutty, buttery, delectable dessert. This is why you need a Nutella puff pastry in your life!

The ingredients that make this Nutella Puff Pastry recipe fantastic are the following:
Puff Pastry
I bought 2 sheets of puff pastry which were approx. 350mm x 230mm or 14 inch x 9 inch for these Nutella puff pastry twists. This made 14 twists.
Egg
This provides a gorgeous golden crust to the puff pastry, which both looks good and adds great texture. If you donโt have any egg, you could use milk or water in place of the egg wash.
Icing Sugar
This isnโt fully necessary, a light sprinkling just adds an extra hint of sweetness and also looks fab on these Nutella and puff pastry twists.
See the recipe card for full information on all ingredients and quantities.
Add jam: If you love a fruity, chocolate combo, I feel like the hazelnut in the Nutella goes really well with strawberry and raspberry jam.
Add Chocolate: To make these even more chocolatey, you could partially dip the cooked Nutella pastries in chocolate and allow it to cool to set. This will look like something a fancy cafe or patisserie would do!
Change the Shape: The great thing about puff pastry with Nutella is that you can get innovative with the shapes of your pastries. You can create Nutella twists / spirals like I have, or you could make twisted sticks, simple spirals (like a cinnamon roll), knots, you name it!
Make them Festive: Similarly to the above, you could adapt the shape of these easy nutella puff pastry recipes to suit any festive season, whether itโs Halloween mummies, Christmas trees, Easter Eggsโฆ itโs a wonderful base to adapt!
Egg Free Options: Simply substitute with milk (can be plant-based too) or water as a wash for the pastry if you canโt eat eggs.
Preheat the oven to 200ยฐC/400ยฐF.

5. Place all the spirals onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with egg wash (Image 5).
6. Bake the rolls for 10-20 minutes or until browned evenly (Image 6).

You can make these ahead of time if you want to prepare for a special occasion. I cooked the whole nutella puff pastry recipe from start to finish. Then once cooled, I stored it in an airtight container and placed it in the freezer.
The best thing is you can then pop them in the oven from frozen just before your guests arrive – your kitchen will smell phenomenal. Simply pop in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 400ยฐF/ 200ยฐC, add an extra dust of icing sugar and enjoy!
This Nutella puff pastry recipe is the perfect way to start your morning or eat as an after dinner dessert. Here are some great meals you can pair them with:
Refrigerator: Keep this Nutella pastry recipe out of the fridge as you want to avoid drying them out! Store on the counter for 3-5 days.
Freezer: Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. You can separate with parchment paper squares if you want to grab one at a time and prevent them from freezing together.
Reheat: To reheat from frozen, simply pop in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 400ยฐF/ 200ยฐC, add an extra dust of icing sugar and enjoy! If you want to heat from room temp to serve warm, pop in the air fryer for 2 minutes at 200ยฐC.
Yes for sure- just opt for your favorite GF puff pastry to pair with the Nutella.
Definitely yes! The reason I cook these in the oven is to cook all 14 at the same time, but you can air fry them in batches of 4-6 depending on the size of your airfryer basket.
