I have grown up eating marmite on toast, but now marmite is being used in loads of creative ways. There are hot drinks, cocktails, Starbucks cookies and even marmite spaghetti recipes. When I first saw that Nigella Lawson, queen of food writing, had a spaghetti with marmite recipe, I knew I wanted to create one of my own.
I kept this really simple to showcase the marmite flavor with just a bit of punch from the parmesan cheese. I hope you love this easy spaghetti recipe that just takes 3 ingredients to make.

Marmite was discovered in the 1900โs in England but was not created as a product until 1902 when the Marmite company was formed. Soon after, it was discovered that marmite is high in B vitamins and was used to treat vitamin deficiencies and other ailments.
Marmite is made from yeast extract and is a dark brown sticky substance with a very strong savory flavor. It is normally spread very thinly on bread products like toast. It can be eaten with or without butter.
In the US, you could look for Marmite in a store that sells international food items.
Marmite is considered a vegan staple due to its high B-complex of vitamins but vegetarian and keto or low carb diets can also use it. However, Marmite is not gluten free.
Spaghetti – This simple Marmite recipe uses spaghetti noodles as the delivery system for this flavorful mix. If you donโt have spaghetti noodles, feel free to use whatever type of pasta you have in the pantry.

You can substitute Marmite with vegemite which is a similar product with a similar taste. Also, try adding some vegetables like leeks, mushrooms, spinach, or broccoli. They all go really well with the marmite flavor.
And did you know marmite comes in different flavors? I think a great one to try would be truffle marmite because I love the flavors of both! Truffle marmite noodles sound divine!
The last thing you can add to this cheesy marmite pasta is bacon or pancetta to add some texture.

3. In the pan, add the runny marmite with the spaghetti, the grated parmesan and another ยฝ ladle of pasta water (Image 3).
4. Stir vigorously until the residual heat cooks off the pasta water, the parm will also absorbs the water and leave you with an emulsified yeasty, cheesy sauce. Serve up and enjoy! (Image 4).

This marmite recipe is best eaten right away. Placing marmite in the refrigerator or freezer makes the marmite turn solid. Then reheating the marmite may jeopardize the vitamins in the spread.
Vegemite has a slightly different flavor but will work well with this recipe if you would like to substitute it for the Marmite.
Chicken goes very well with marmite pasta.
Any pasta you have on hand will work for this recipe.
