Why this recipe works

This recipe is perfect as a weekend treat or a brunch recipe. It’s so delicious and the prep time is only around 3 minutes!

The salty peanut butter balances the sweet melted chocolate glaze, making this the most rich and delicious baked oats recipe.

Ingredients

Oats

Rolled oats are the foundation for the batter of this peanut butter baked oats recipe.

Peanut butter

You can use smooth or crunchy peanut butter, whatever you prefer. If you want a gooey center to your baked oats, use a runnier peanut butter or combine some honey with the thicker peanut butter you already have.

Brown sugar

For sweetness and flavour.

Egg

Helps to bind all of the ingredients together. Also adds protein! You only need a small egg for this baked oats recipe.

Milk Chocolate

I opted for milk chocolate to mimic the outside layer of chocolate on a Reese’s pieces (piece? lol). You could also use dark chocolate here though.

Oat Milk

Or your milk of choice! I like the flavour of oat milk in this recipe.

FAQ

I don’t have a blender, how can I make these?

You could combine the ingredients together with a whisk, which would give you more of an oat cake vibe which is equally delicious, just different in texture. Or alternatively you could buy oat flour (it is more expensive though).

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced blender that’s great quality, I use the Ninja Blender which is amazing.

How long to cook baked oats?

Oven time will be dependent on your dish size. I used a shallow round ramekin (6 inches diameter), the cook time was 12 minutes. If you have a deeper ramekin that’s smaller in width, up the ocok time to 15+ minutes.

Can I make these ahead of time?

This peanut butter baked oats recipe is best enjoyed as soon as you bake them. This is because you want the blended oats to be warm and the chocolate layer to be gooey & melted.
